چکیده

Background: Squamous cell carcinoma is the most prevalent kind of tumor buccal mucosa. For purpose planning surgery and radiotherapy for tumors tongue, floor mouth, oropharyx, imaging to locate size extent original essential. Therefore, it beneficial determine radiation field, ensure adequate margin excision, overall improve patient’s prognosis. Aims Objectives: The aim study was evaluate role computed tomography (CT) scan in diagnosis mucosal malignancies its characteristics. Materials Methods: Total 50 patients suspecting mucosa cancer were referred Radiology Department. They subjected CT examination on 16 slice scanner. evaluation made primary mass lesion. staging disease performed with TNM classification. Results: In our study, out patients, fourth decade (30%) fifth (26%) saw highest incidence cancer. majority suffering from severe disease; 44% had T4 stage 58% Stage IV. Conclusion: plays a very important malignancy effectively detects bone erosion (98% sensitive) invasion infratemporal fossa. However, during early stages cancer, might not be helpful.

Evaluation of Micronucleus Frequency and Related Factors in the Buccal Mucosa of Cone Beam Computed Tomography-Exposed Subjects

Background and aim: The ionizing radiation has been recognized to have deleterious effects on the DNA and induce cell death. Due to the importance of evaluating the DNA alterations in buccal mucosa cells induced by the ionizing radiation and by considering the limited volume of the samples used in previous studies, the present study aimed to assess the micronucleus (MN) incidence in the buccal ...

Multidetector computed tomography in acute joint fractures.

Conventional radiography plays an essential diagnostic role in the primary evaluation of acute joint trauma. In complex fractures, however, computed tomography (CT) is an imaging modality often used second to radiography. As a result of technical breakthroughs in the field, multidetector CT (MDCT) allows faster imaging and better temporal, spatial, and contrast resolution compared with conventi...
